The OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational brings together the baddest street cars in the nation and puts them to the test. This is our 5th consecutive year at the invitational. The goal for us coming into this event was to finish in the top 5 in the competitive segments and a top 5 overall.
The weekend started off with the The Design & Engineering segment during the SEMA Show. D&E has been our achilles heel this year. We had our work cut out for us with a 20th Place finish, but we never give up. During the Detroit Speed autocross, we started off strong, and after making a few adjustments trying to get the car dialed in with the new power we ended up going backwards, falling to 4th in GTS and 11th Overall after the 3 afternoon runs.
Sunday started with the Speed Stop challenge, which has always been one of our stronger events. JJ from Ultimate Performance was instrumental in our result with some solid set up advice. The Hot Lap challenge brought the weekend to a close. When the dust settled we landed in 5th Overall in both segments.
The final result for our team was a points tie with Jake Rozelle in his Corvette. Unfortunately the tie breaker is Design and Engineering, which ultimately put us in 3rd in GTS and 6th Overall in a very stacked field. Congratulations to Mike DuSold for taking the Overall win and Austin Barnes for taking the GTS win!
We had an amazing season finishing 2nd in the GTS National Championship and we can’t wait for next season. Thank you to the Ultimate Street Car Association for putting on such a great series and thank you to our amazing partners for your support! Stay tuned!!
