Roto-Fab intake for the 2016-2018 Camaro SS features a new Roto-Molded air box design, MAF housing and inlet elbow unique to the Gen 6 Camaro SS.

Like their previous systems, no modifications to the vehicle or its components is required. Further, NO TUNE REQUIRED! Roto-Fab has carefully designed this system to work well with the stock calibration. Their large duct size, generous air box volume, and oversize filter are up for the task when power additives are introduced.

After 8 months of development, we are proud to announce the release of the Roto-fab 2016-18 Camaro SS cold air intake system. This package delivers great performance and awesome sound without a tune or any modifications to the vehicle. Installation is easy and detailed, step-by step color instructions are included.

The Roto-fab 2016-2018 Camaro SS cold air intake system uses all of the available real estate to package a huge air box and massive filter while maintaining an extremely effective barrier against engine bay heat. We’ve developed this intake to perform well as a “stand alone” mod while being capable of meeting the higher air demands of supercharged and high HP builds.

Roto-Fab's open top design effectively seals to the hood which maximizes air box volume while providing all of the advantages of a lid. They use top quality components throughout including high gloss silicone hose couplers, stainless steel hose clamps, stainless steel fasteners, molded-in inserts for air box, MAF sensor mounting and high quality filters designed to last for the life of the vehicle. The air box and duct work are custom molded to maximize air flow and fit the car perfectly. The logo badge on the air box has a black anodized finish with a laser etched Roto-fab logo. We also include a red Roto-fab vinyl graphic in the instructions giving end users the option of reversing the badge and applying the red logo to match the red lettering on the engine covers.

Product FAQs

Do I need to tune my car after installing a Roto-Fab intake? Roto-Fab intake systems are designed to perform well with the stock calibration of your vehicle. No tuning is required; however, tuning will maximize the benefits of your air intake system. The HP increases advertised on our site are actual increases without tuning. You will need to tune your car if you have an aftermarket supercharger and have purchased a Roto-Fab intake designed specifically for your supercharger application.

Does a Roto-Fab system change the sound of my car? You will hear is a louder, more powerful sound under aggressive acceleration. During normal cruising conditions the sound is very comparable to to stock. As compared to stock the sound difference has a direct relationship with accelerator pedal.

What HP gains can I expect? You can expect to see approximately 10-20 HP gains depending on the system.

Do I need to modify my car to install a Roto-Fab intake? The Roto-Fab intake is designed to "bolt-on" using factory mounting points. You do not need to cut, drill, or modify your car. We do recommend saving your stock components.

Will a Roto-Fab system set a CEL (check engine light)? No, currently all Roto-Fab intake systems are designed to function properly with your vehicle's stock calibration and should not activate the check engine light. If you have a check engine light, it should be investigated immediately.

What is the difference between an oiled and dry filter? Oiled filters are recommended for more dusty, dry conditions and dry filters are recommended for everyday street driving. The oiled filter has performed slightly better for Roto-Fab, showing a 1-2 HP gain over the dry option.

When do I need to clean my filter? Roto-Fab recommends checking the filter at least every 3rd oil change. Oiled filters should be inspected every 6,000 miles. If there is dirt or debris built up to the height of the filter mesh, it needs to be cleaned. For normal driving conditions, cleaning is required every 10,000-12,000 miles. A cleaning kit is required for an oiled filter (never used compressed air for cleaning). Dry filters are normally cleaned once a year with a quick blow off (no cleaning kit or solvent required). Over cleaning the filter will shorten the life of the filter and reduce its filtration efficiency.

Is there a benefit to having a closed air box versus the open top design? Closed air box systems have a nice look, but don't add any more horsepower than an open top design system. Open top systems are designed to seal to the hood of your car, providing the same results as a closed box system.

What is the purpose of the sound tube delete? The sound tube delete option includes a smooth inlet elbow without the sound tube connection, a block off plate for the firewall and instructions for eliminating the sound tube assembly. This is designed for people who don't want to artificially enhance the sound of their car, or for those with other mods such as headers and exhaust and don’t want additional sound inside the car. Also, the elimination of the sound tube system cleans up the appearance under the hood.

Will an aftermarket hood affect the performance of a Roto-Fab system? It depends on the rise of the hood in the air box area. The hood seal we use engages the air box over 3/8”. Therefore, it’s possible to take up at least a ¼” gap by simply pulling straight up on the hood seal. For the 5th gen Camaro, we instruct customers to lift the hood seal up as much as possible while maintaining engagement on the upper edge of the air box. The next step is to close the hood and push downward on the closed hood in the air box area. This allows the hood seal to seat to the proper height.

Will a Roto-Fab intake affect my warranty? Legally, a vehicle manufacturer can't void a warranty on a vehicle due to an aftermarket part unless they can prove that the aftermarket part caused or contributed to the failure in the vehicle. We recommend contacting your particular dealer to clarify warranty policies.

Are Roto-Fab systems CARB approved? Roto-Fab does not CARB test their intake systems. We're unable to sale or ship a system to you If you live in a state that has adopted emissions standards such as California.

Does Roto-Fab have a warranty? Yes, Roto-Fab products carry a 1 year warranty against defects.
